I am so glad we took the time to visit Arizona Rim Country. We were a bit concerned that it was just off of Rt. 260. We thought it might be a bit noisy. It wasn't and we enjoyed the peace and quiet among the pines. The facilities were clean and shrubs and trees provided privacy during our stay. We'll be back!

Sometimes we want to enjoy a back-woods feel and other times we want the variety of things to do near town. Payson Campground had it all. Great sightseeing, hiking, restaurants close by. A pleasant surprise with really nice staff. Thank you Michael!

Gary Hardy Memorial Rodeo May 16-18
During its earliest years, Payson's Spring Rodeo was part of the National Old-Timers Rodeo Association, now known as the Senior Pro Rodeo Tour. In 1987 it became the Gary Hardt Memorial Rodeo to honor the memory of the Payson native who died in 1987. Hardt was a well-known roper. He was recognized throughout the Southwest for his bull riding and roping talents. His rodeo career began in 1962 at the World's Oldest Continuous Rodeo in Payson. As a member of the Rodeo Cowboys Association, Hardt rode bulls for about 20 years. During the last 10 years of his work in rodeo, he became a well-established roper as well. This memorial event benefits local youth with educational and athletic achievements.

Payson Pro Rodeo - Worlds Oldest Continuous Rodeo Aug 15- 17
For over 140 years the World's Oldest Continuous Rodeo has never missed a beat. The August Rodeo is steeped in tradition and holds dear the title of "best small town rodeos in the world." From bull riding to team roping the weekend is jammed packed full of family fun and bucking broncos. You will see a full PRCA rodeo with the following events:Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Tie Down Roping, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Women's Breakaway, Mutton Bustin and Jr. Steer Riding.Tickets are subject to availability and may not be available for purchase at the gates.
